About us
Taaya is a community lifestyle platform and trust that provides a cultural home for the multicultural diaspora. It promotes social connection and economic opportunity while serving as a cultural compass and socio-cultural anchor for Kenyan heritage and its friends around the world. Founded in 2026 under the visionary leadership of Anyango Nyowele, Taaya was established as an enduring community trust. It builds on more than two decades of commitment to cultural exchange and community empowerment. Rooted in work that began in the early 2000s, Taaya represents an ongoing grassroots movement that brings people together through shared celebrations—honouring both individual stories and collective challenges. More than an institution, Taaya is a living expression of resilience, unity, and cultural continuity across borders.
I believe good design isn’t just pretty — it tells a story, connects with people, and makes things work better. Always down for bold colors, thoughtful details, and a little bit of fun in every project.

Article (1): Kenya & Friends in the Park Returns to Berlin — Bigger, Better, 2nd Edition Berlin is set to come alive once again as Kenya & Friends in the Park – German 2nd Edition (Open-Air) takes over the city on Saturday, 31st July . Following the success of the first edition, this year's open-air gathering promises an even richer celebration of Kenyan culture, community, and connection. At its heart, the event is about people. It brings together Kenyans, friends of Kenya, the wider African family, and the international community under one open sky — a space where culture is shared, friendships are formed, and everyone is welcome. Expect a full day of culture, food, music, networking, fashion, entrepreneurship, and community engagement , all woven into one vibrant outdoor experience. Whether you are Kenyan by birth, Kenyan at heart, or simply curious about East African culture, there is a place for you here. The event is expected to welcome participants from Berlin and across Germany, as well as Kenyans and friends of Kenya from the other 29 Schengen countries and beyond. With this kind of reach, Kenya & Friends in the Park is more than a party — it is a meeting point for a truly international community. Mark your calendar, bring your friends, and come ready to celebrate. The 2nd edition is here, and it is going to be one to remember.
Article (2): A Taste of Kenya — The Food That Brings Everyone Together If there is one language everyone at Kenya & Friends in the Park speaks fluently, it is food. The menu for the day reads like a journey across Kenya, and it is designed to bring people together around shared plates and shared stories. Popular dishes of the day include: - Nyama choma — Kenya's beloved roasted meat, grilled to perfection and full of smoky flavour - Fish — fresh, seasoned, and served the Kenyan way - Biryani — aromatic rice layered with rich spices - Samosas — crispy, golden, and impossible to stop at one - Beans — hearty, comforting, and a true classic - Ugali — the staple that completes every Kenyan meal - Chapatis — soft, warm, and perfect with everything - Pilau — fragrant spiced rice that fills the air with its aroma This is food with history. Each dish tells a story of family kitchens, coastal flavours, and the everyday generosity that defines Kenyan hospitality. At the event, these dishes become a bridge — a way for visitors who have never tasted Kenyan cuisine to fall in love with it, and for Kenyans abroad to taste home. Come hungry, come curious, and come ready to share a table with new friends.
Article (3): Music, Fashion & the Rhythm of Kenyan Culture in Berlin Kenya & Friends in the Park is not just something you watch — it is something you feel. From the first drumbeat to the last dance, music and fashion sit at the centre of the experience. The open-air setting gives the day a natural energy: warm rhythms filling the park, people moving together, and a soundtrack that moves between Kenyan classics, Afrobeats, and the sounds of the wider African continent. Music here is a meeting point — a universal language that needs no translation. Fashion adds another layer of colour and pride. Guests are invited to celebrate Kenyan and African style, from bold prints and kitenge to modern diaspora looks that blend cultures effortlessly. Fashion at the event is not just about what you wear — it is about identity, heritage, and self-expression. Together, music and fashion transform the park into a living stage where culture is celebrated, not displayed. It is a chance to see, hear, and feel the creativity of a community that carries its roots wherever it goes. Bring your energy, your style, and your dancing shoes.
